Nagi Idris (UK)

Nagi is a senior international lawyer and Fellow of the International Bar Association, with over 19 years of legal consultancy experience. He received his LLB (Hons) from the University of Khartoum, and attended the CPE Conversion Law Course at the City University London. He also obtained international practice diplomas from the International Bar Association and the College of Law of England and Wales in International Arbitration, International Capital Markets, International Mergers and Acquisitions, International Business Organisations and International Joint Ventures. He holds a diploma in linguistics from the Chartered Institute of Linguists and the Islamic Finance Qualification from the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. Nagi previously served as a senior Legal Consultant at Peter Dovey & Co Solicitors and other organisations where he advised on international contracts, such as international infrastructure development, education and healthcare management and international commercial law. Nagi has a particular interest in the area of international law and dispute resolution – including: boundary disputes, international investment disputes and international energy law. He is a Member of the Society of International Economic Law and the Human Rights Institute, the Arbitration Committee, the Oil and Gas Law Committee, the Water Law Committee, the War Crimes Committee, and the Arab Regional Forum of the International Bar Association. He is also a member of the Sudanese Bar Union and the Chartered Institute of Linguists. Nagi is also a visiting professor at LINK Campus University in Rome, Italy.
